The ifrothgolf review
The SuperSpeed C is a single training club with a counterweight that moves mass behind your hands, changing the club's balance point and moment of inertia. Unlike the lighter-than-driver sticks in the standard overspeed system, this one leans on counterweight physics to let the head release faster, which trains the hand and arm segment of the swing to fire quicker. It pairs with the same free app protocols and works as an add-on to an existing speed routine.
What's great
It targets something most speed trainers ignore, the release and the hands, so it can break a plateau for players who have already squeezed the obvious gains out of standard overspeed sticks. The counterweight feel is genuinely different and gives clear feedback on a lazy or early release. Build quality is solid, the app protocols are free, and it slots into a routine you may already own without much extra time per session.
Worth knowing
This is an add-on, not a starting point. On its own it does very little, it is designed to sit alongside a full overspeed set, so a beginner buying just this is mostly wasting money. The gains are incremental and only show up with consistent weeks of work, not in one session. At around 95 pounds for a single stick it is not cheap for what is essentially one weighted club, and the counterweighted feel can encourage an overly handsy move if you swing it without following the structured protocols.
The verdict
A worthwhile, narrowly useful tool if you are already deep into speed training and want to target your hands and release, but skip it if you do not already own and use a standard overspeed set.
