The ifrothgolf review
A lightweight walking stand bag from Cobra aimed at golfers who carry rather than ride. It tips the scales at around 2.24kg, sits on a 4-way divided top, and packs seven pockets including a lined cooler pocket, a magnetic-close valuables pocket and a dedicated rangefinder slot. The Cool Flow back panel and dual padded straps are built around keeping the load comfortable for a full round on foot.
What's great
It's properly light, and you feel it on the back nine when your shoulders aren't begging for mercy. The dual-strap harness and breathable back padding spread the weight well, and the redesigned legs with the flex base genuinely plant more confidently on uneven or soft ground than most bags this slim. Storage is smarter than the weight suggests, with a real cooler pocket and a magnetic valuables pocket that you can open one-handed. A two-way rain hood comes in the box, which not every brand bothers with.
Worth knowing
This is a carry bag, not a do-everything bag, so if you're mostly on a cart or trolley the lack of a cart-base channel and the modest pocket volume will frustrate you. The waterproofing handles light rain and showers fine but it isn't a fully sealed wet-weather bag, so a heavy downpour will eventually get through. Seven pockets sounds generous but the individual compartments are on the small side, so if you cram in waterproofs, a dozen balls and a packed lunch it fills up fast. Pricing also swings a lot between retailers and seasons, so it pays to shop around rather than pay full RRP.
The verdict
One of the better true lightweight carry bags out there. If you walk and want comfort over a full round without lugging a heavy bag, it's an easy recommend. Cart and trolley users, and anyone who plays in serious rain a lot, should look elsewhere.
