The ifrothgolf review

Cobra's flagship cart bag, built for push trolleys and electric carts rather than carrying. You get a full 14-way top with three full-length dividers, so every club drops into its own channel and nothing tangles or rattles. There are 13 pockets in total, including an oversized insulated cooler pocket that swallows a few cans, a magnetic-close pocket for your phone and rangefinder, and a lined valuables pocket. The base has a pass-through channel so the cart strap clamps over the bag rather than pinning your lower pockets shut, and a two-way zip rain hood is in the box.

What's great

The headline is the weight: at 2.84kg it is properly light for a fully-loaded 14-way cart bag, which makes lifting it on and off the trolley and in and out of the boot far less of a chore than the usual cart-bag heave. The 14-way top is the real deal with full-length dividers, so irons stay separated all the way down instead of clattering together. Storage is genuinely generous and well thought out, the magnetic rangefinder pocket is the kind of small touch you use every round, and the pass-through base means the cart strap does not strangle your pockets.

Worth knowing

It is a cart bag through and through. There is no stand and the carry strap is an afterthought, so if you ever fancy walking a quick nine with it on your back you will regret it. The full 14-way top, while tidy, can grip thicker grips snugly and feel a touch fiddly pulling clubs in a hurry. UK pricing swings a lot between retailers and model years, so shop around before paying full RRP. Polyester rather than a premium fabric means it looks the part but will not feel as plush as bags costing more.

The verdict

If you ride a trolley or buggy and want top-tier organisation without the dead weight that usually comes with it, this is one of the easiest cart bags to recommend. Just go in knowing it is not a dual-purpose bag - buy it as a dedicated cart bag and it delivers.
